A Moment of Peace?

One of my good friends told me about her blog; I went and read it and decided it would be a good way for me to blow off steam. So here I am.

My life is constantly hectic. I have ever second of my time booked at least three weeks in advance. It’s the very end of my senior year— shouldn’t I have lots of free time to chill, relax, do whatever? It’s quite the other way. With college only a few months away and prom coming up, our funds are short. I got a part time job that is turning into not-so-very part time. A girl recently quit, and it’s up to the rest of us to fill in the missing time slots. Hopefully that’s only temporary, but at least it means more money. Also, I’m a manager of the high school softball team. I’ve played my whole life, but at the beginning of senior year I was burnt out and wanted more time for other things, which I thought would happen if I quit. Unfortunately, softball is still taking up a large portion of my time. Look forward to reading a few rants of mine concerning the coach in the future. Lastly and most stressful is the college search. I’ve applied, I’ve been accepted, now I get to make a decision. Why is it that colleges have at least three months to make their decision, but I only have one to make mine? And without all the information! I’m still waiting for financial aid packages from most of my schools, which is kind of a deciding factor. I got waitlisted at my number one: Tulane. So with trying to move up, trying to negotiate financial aid packages with other schools, writing essay after essay for scholarships, and trying to imagine where I see myself last year, you can imagine the stress. There are also less major things taking up my time such as planning this summer at camp, putting together a beach house for prom, dealing with the whole date situation for prom, and helping plan for our softball banquet.

I was hoping that since my family and I were going to Port Aransas for Easter break, I would be able to relax and recuperate from my busy schedule. We arrived at around 11:30 pm on Friday night, and I passed out. We then woke up at six to go fishing. The weather was supposed to be warm and beautiful. It was freezing with 30 mph winds. I got sick and was so the rest of the weekend. I slept a lot, which I guess I needed anyway.

Now back to greet chaos tomorrow. Just six more weeks…just six more weeks…just six more weeks…
